Knowledge, Innovation, Technology transfer scheme (KITTS)

At FSP we have had a successful partnership with the University of Wolverhampton spanning many years, and have worked collaboratively on a variety of projects that have had added great value to the business, the university and their students. In particular we have participated in two Knowledge, Innovation, Technology Transfer Schemes (KITTS) which helped FSP to develop its first website and improved Computer Aided design technology within the business to assist with the design and development of our products.

Knowledge Transfer Partnership

The relationship has been strengthened through involvement in a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project. KTP programmes are designed to benefit everyone involved. Businesses involved in the partnership acquire new knowledge and expertise, Associates (individual graduate) gain business based experience and personal development opportunities.  Universities or research organisations can utilise their experience in the programme to enhance the relevance of their teaching materials.

Involvement in the programme has allowed Fabweld to tackle specific business issues using fresh perspectives, experience, expertise and support of senior academics and a skilled graduate. Furthermore through the KTP partnership Fabweld has been able to access resources and other professional services which were not readily available within the business and embed these skills and processes in the business. Academics are able to translate their experience as part of the programme into real life examples to add relevance to course subject topics.
