Fabweld has been working with the Manufacturing Advisory Service in the West Midlands (MAS-WM) for a number of years. With advanced manufacturing, low carbon initiatives and innovation all high on the agenda, MAS-WM is able to assist businesses in the region like Fabweld to become more competitive.
MAS-WM consultants completed an in-company manufacturing review at Fabweld and highlighted that productivity and efficiency could be enhanced following the adoption of a new factory layout. The advisory partnerships also provided advice and funding allowing Fabweld to implement a highly bespoke organisational database for more effective control over business processes. The bar coding system currently being implemented at FSP which will allow the full track and traceability of customer orders from order confirmation through to manufacture has largely been successfully through the advice gained from MAS-WM.
